Your primary goal is to let your pet fish grow and live normally. You will have to feed them and treat them when they are sick. But you have to protect them from the ravenous predators. Use the laser gun to kill them before they will have the chance to feed on your pets.
Collect as many coins as you can to buy food and upgrade your weapons. You can also use the coins to introduce new fish species to the tank.
